Sean Beaver . . . a professional kite enthusiast with the Kansas City Kite Club.
Having been involved in many aspects of kiting over the past 10 years he shares a passion for single line,
dual line, quad line kites, and variety of large show kites.
Sean is also a member of PASA (professional air sports association) as an accredited kite boarder
and continues to promote the sport on lakes throughout the region. Kiteboarding is currently the fastest
growing water sport in the US and Sean is at the forefront of its promotion in the region.
Sean aka "surfkansas" is steadily becoming one the most active professional kite flying entertainers traveling
throughout the region flying large show kites, kite boarding, and related flying shows and festivals.
Sean has been the President of the "Kansas City Kite Club" for the past four years and was the recipient
of the Chuck Blackwell award in 2007 recognizing his ongoing contribution to the sport.
Through Sean's leadership the "Kansas City Kite Club" has grown to become one of the regions most active and
successful community kiting organizations hosting over a dozen major events each year that attract thousands of kids and families.
Sean's personal kite collection includes multiple large show kites, banners, ground displays and
extensive kiteboarding gear. Sean's center pieces are a 50 foot Trilobite kite, a 50 foot caterpillar,
giant spikey balls, a giant kitty cat, and a 90 foot Manta Ray and S. The newest piece in his collection is the
world's largest spin sock measuring over 190 feet long and nearly three stories tall. The Beaver collection is
nothing short of spectacular and is a once in a lifetime display to witness.
Sean always says "I fly kites so you will look up in life."
In 2009 Sean married the love of his life Stephany at Smithville lakes "Kite Point" in front of nearly
500 friends and family in a unique one of a kind "Kite Wedding"
