Tony Mackay . . . Originally from Australia, I have always been into water sports of all kinds, or
for that matter simply riding anything. As a child (whoa, what happened)
I was born with a set of speedos a surfboard and a beach near by. Not to sound down, but to make a point, I need to mention that
my mother passed away when I was only 14 years old. By that time, I was well established as a fortifed beach bum and my dad knew it.
With a recent offer Dad got to come to America, he thought, "What a great idea to pry you loose from the surfie scene." Well, sorry Dad,
nice try and all, but I'm still the same Surfie I ever was, only now I do it with a Kite. Hence, the name KiteSurfies.
Moving forward in time, one of the toys I had a fancy to ride was a motorcycle. As a matter of fact, I had a real love affair
with a Custom 2004 Harley Fatboy, when out of the blue on Miami Beach at a Business conference, I sighted a UFO draggin some poor
bastard through the water on a bloody surf board. Well, I wanted some of that action. So I ran up the beach to help the guy out, and at
the same time hoping to get the phone number of the space dudes (yep, I wanted a ride.) To my surprise it was a kite, not a UFO,
who'd have thought.

From that day on, my life had changed for ever. The once loved Harley was now in the back seat. The pic to the left is me at
Sturgus in 2005 practicing with my trainer kite. Man was I ate up. I'd traveled about 800 miles to a motorcycle mecca,
and all I could think about was flying a kite. Since then it has only gotten worse. Shortly after returning home, I sold that bike
because it couldn't compete with my new love; KiteSurfing, KiteBoarding, SnowKiting, KiteCatting and KiteBuggying.
I even taught my ole Bud how to fly a kite.
It should be quite obvious by now that KiteSurfing gets into your blood and has a massive effect on all aspect of life. More to come . . .
